DR. BEN AT CENTRO LAGUNA PLASTIC SURGERY Dr. Benjamin Villaran or Dr. Ben, as he has been affectionaly known at Lakeside since 2009, is a seasoned surgeon in private practice since 1979. The former head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Service al IMSS Medical Center, he is also past president and founding member of both the College of Plastic Surgeons and the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Jalisco. Dr. Ben is proud to be an International Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS), which are the most prestigious associations for the advancement of plastic surgery in the world. He is also an active member of AMPCER (Mexican Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery), and has been recently recertified by examination by the Council of the Mexican Board of Plastic Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (CMCPER). EYELID LIFT OR BLEPHAROPLASTY Hooded and baggy eyelids contribute to the appearance of tiredness and poor health. The eyelid lift can be done as a sole procedure in middle-aged persons or together with the facelift in the older set, becoming the cherry on the cake. If done alone it can be done in a hospital as an outpatient, our driver picking you up at six am and getting you back in time for lunch at your home. In selected cases it can be done as an office procedure under local anesthetic. BROW LIFT This procedure can be done as an office procedure under local anesthetic in selected patients or together with a facelift or blepharoplasty in a hospital setting. FACELIFT-NECKLIFT These procedures are usually done together and always in a hospital setting. The results are amazing and on average turn back the clock more than twenty years. The patient stays overnight at the hospital in Guadalajara under the watchful eye of an experienced bilingual nurse’s aide and the transportation is included in the package. RHINOPLASTY This surgery can be either aesthetic of functional, as in the case of correcting a deviated septum or in cases of sinus troubles. It is a hospital procedure that can be managed either as a short or overnight stay depending on the case. There is also a non-surgical aesthetic correction, using a top quality FDA approved fillers, which can be done painlessly as an office procedure in just a few minutes. OTOPLASTY (EAR REDUCTION, EAR PINNING AND EARLOBE RECONSTRUCTION) These procedures can usually be done on the adult patient as an office procedure under local anesthetic or under sedation in the younger set in a hospital outpatient setting. BREAST AUGMENTATION, LIFT AND REDUCTION These procedures restore a youthful appearance to the breast, giving the patient enormous self- esteem. The operation can be done either with or without an implant according to the contour desired. It requires overnight stay at the hospital and includes private nursing and transportation to Guadalajara. LIPOSUCTION, LIPOSULPTING New techniques have evolved to suck away unwanted body fat and to regraft it into areas lacking a shapely volume. It is always done in a hospital setting as an inpatient and requires postoperative use of pressure garments. TUMMY TUCK OR ABDOMINALPLASTY This surgery removes all the excess loose or adipose tissue from the navel to the pubic bone and for a beautiful result, is always accompanied by liposculpting of the hips and love handles. He sets aside up to a full hour for you to talk with him, receive a complete evaluation and discuss the best surgical plan to ensure you have an excellent result within your means. CHOOSE A DATE Surgeries are scheduled every day of the week except Wednesdays and Saturdays. YOUR PROCEDURE PACKAGE Home pickup and transportation to the hospital is provided on the day of your procedure as well as the return trip to your home either on the same day in the outpatient procedures or on the next day should you have to stay the night. Besides transportation, our Procedure Package includes your premedication, postop meds for pain and swelling, wound care kit and the use of a home Ultrasound device when indicated to speed the healing. In all cases bilingual nursing care is included to care for you during the evening and night of your procedure, interact with the with the hospital nursing personnel and assist you in every way until you are safely on your way home. PRICING Pricing depends on different factors which are related to the patient, the procedure, the surgeon, the facility and the mode of payment. However, more than price, the importance relies on the quality and experience of your surgeon, as the difference between providers can be like night and day. Patient: The ideal patient is strong and healthy regardless of age, with no significant addictions and with a positive approach to life in general. Patients with comorbidities or health issues can be elegible for elective cosmetic surgery if clearance is obtained from their main health provider and if their lab work and cardio evaluation are favorable. However special risk management may increase the cost slightly. Procedure: Dr. Ben puts a premium on an undetectable natural look, and is well versed in reconstructive as well as cosmetic surgery and will use the best techniques available to give you an extraordinary result. The price relates on the complexity of the procedure and the amount of different procedures which may be needed inn your particular case. Keep in mind that successful surgery requires an incredibly high level of skill, painstaking attention to detail and a keen artistic vision. The surgeon: Price depends on the surgical skill, experience, professional prestige and reputation of the surgeon. Also, the surgeon is only as good as his dedicated team. Doctor Ben and his 6- member expert team have been working together for many years and act with the precision of fine clockwork. The facility: The cost varies from procedure done in an office, surgical center or a real hospital. Doctor Ben prefers to do surgery in an accredited hospital in Guadalajara for almost all his procedures to provide the best care for which he is recognized. While the quality of the facility adds to the cost, you will have the added comfort of being cared for in a professional setting, and the advantage of the best care should any emergency arise, as you cannot put a price on safety. Mode of payment: Dr. Ben will ask for payment for his professional fees as well as that of his team of anesthesiologist and assistants, hospital expenses and private nurse and driver all in a lump sum to facilitate matters. Since all surgical supplies are imported from the US, quotes are in US dollars which also avoids dealing with exchange rate fluctuations as well as local inflation. Dr. Ben accepts payments in pesos, dollars (US o Canadian), private checks on a US bank, bank transfers and credit cards up to $1000. Amounts in excess should be paid directly to the hospital and carry a bank service charge of 5%. Discounts: Dr. Ben awards cash discounts to special interest cases.
