Mi nombre es Jorge Alberto Juárez Varela, cirujano urólogo, especialidad médico-quirúrgica, enfocada a la evaluación integral, diagnóstico y tratamiento de enfermedades del aparato urinario, glándula suprarrenal, espacio retroperitoneal tanto en hombres y mujeres; y sistema genital masculino. Soy Zacatecano de nacimiento, más sin embargo he crecido toda mi vida en la ciudad de Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, por lo que también me considero “Hidrocálido”. Crecí rodeado en el ambiente médico desde temprana edad. Mi padre, el Dr. Eleazar Juárez Alamillo, reconocido urólogo en Aguascalientes, fue el que inicio a introducirme en esta especialidad. Realicé mis estudios de bachillerato en el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Aguascalientes, graduándome con mención honorífica. Mis estudios como médico general, los realicé en la Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes de los años 2011 al 2018, y de igual forma tuve el privilegio de graduarme con mención honorífica. Posteriormente, viajé y radiqué 5 años en la ciudad de Monterrey, Nuevo León, para poder realizar la especialidad que me apasionaba, la Urología. Decidí realizar la especialidad en esta ciudad, ya que Monterrey es la ciudad pionera en toda América Latina en cirugía de mínima invasión, la cual incluye la laparoscopía, laparoscopía asistida por robot (Sistema Da Vinci-Intuitive), y la endourología avanzada (Nefrolitotomías percutáneas). Tuve el honor de realizar la residencia en el Hospital General del Zona No. 33, avalada por la Universidad de Monterrey. Tuve la oportunidad de realizar un Fellowship en Cirugía de Mínima Invasión en Madrid, España, en el Instituto de Cirugía Urológica Avanzada / CEMTRO, teniendo como mentor al Dr. Fernando Gómez Sancha, médico pionero a nivel mundial en la enucleación prostática con láser Holmio y Tulio. En dicha institución de igual forma tuve un adiestramiento en cirugía robótica con el Sistema Da Vinci. Al terminar mi residencia, decidí regresar a mi ciudad de Aguascalientes, con la finalidad de ejercer mi profesión de forma plena, pero sobre todo para servir a la población de mi entidad, y regresar un poco, de lo tanto que me ha dado. Actualmente soy adscrito del servicio de Urología del Hospital StarMédica Aguascalientes y Hospital MAC NORTE, los cuales son los mejores hospitales de la entidad. Estoy a sus órdenes. My name is Jorge Alberto Juárez Varela, urological surgeon, medical-surgical specialty, focused on the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the urinary system, adrenal gland, retroperitoneal space in both men and women, and male genital system. I am Zacatecan by birth, however I have grown up all my life in the city of Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, which is why I also consider myself “Hidrocálido”. I grew up surrounded in the medical environment from an early age. My father, Dr. Eleazar Juarez Alamillo, a renowned urologist in Aguascalientes, was the one who began introducing me to this specialty. I completed my high school studies at the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Aguascalientes, graduating with honorable mention. I completed my studies as a general practitioner at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes from 2011 to 2018, and I also had the privilege of graduating with honors. Subsequently, I traveled and lived for 5 years in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, to be able to realize the specialty that I was passionate about, Urology. I decided to pursue the specialty in this city, since Monterrey is the pioneer city in all of Latin America in minimally invasive surgery, which includes laparoscopy, robotic-assisted laparoscopy (Da Vinci-Intuitive System), and advanced endourology (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomies). I had the honor of completing my residency at the General Hospital of Zone No. 33, endorsed by the University of Monterrey. I had the opportunity to do a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery in Madrid, Spain, at the Institute of Advanced Urological Surgery / CEMTRO, with Dr. Fernando Gomez Sancha as a mentor, a world-class pioneer in prostate enucleation with Holmium and Thulium lasers. At this institution I also had training in robotic surgery with the Da Vinci System. At the end of my residency, I decided to return to my city of Aguascalientes, with the purpose of practicing my profession fully, but above all to serve the population of my entity, and to return a little, of all that it has given me. I am currently attached to the Urology service at StarMédica Aguascalientes Hospital and MAC NORTE Hospital, which are the best hospitals in the state. I'm at your service.
