X-rays, ultrasound, CT and MRI are nearly always requested with a medical order stating what is being looked for, because the right study depends on the clinical question. When booking, confirm what preparation is needed — fasting, a full bladder, pausing something — and whether the price includes a radiologist's reading or only the images; that difference is common and changes the final cost.
