About me: I am Alejandro Rios, a physician specialized in Psychiatry, certified by the Consejo Mexicano de Psiquiatría. I have academic training and experience in the field of mental health going back several years. My interest in understanding the human mind and the conditions that affect it began at age 15, which shaped my decision to study Medicine and dedicate my professional practice to mental health care. My academic training began at the Facultad de Medicina of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), where I also completed my social service in the Departamento de Psiquiatría y Salud Mental. This period was fundamental to understanding the complexity of mental illnesses and the importance of approaching them from a comprehensive perspective. Afterward, I completed my medical specialty in Psychiatry at Hospital Psiquiátrico Fray Bernardino Álvarez, an institution where I also completed the Advanced Specialty in Psychodynamic and Supportive Psychotherapy. This path of continuous training has allowed me to develop a holistic approach, integrating the biological, emotional, and social dimensions of each person to offer personalized, empathetic treatments. In addition to my clinical practice, I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge as a teacher, giving classes in biomedical informatics at the Facultad de Medicina of UNAM for two years. I have also actively participated in talks, workshops, and courses aimed at health professionals, always with the goal of fostering greater understanding and progress in the field of psychiatry. Beyond my work, I maintain an interest in philosophy, sociology, and anthropology, disciplines that enrich my view of human beings and their context, helping me understand more broadly the unique experiences of each patient. I work with a personalized approach, integrating therapeutic and pharmacological interventions tailored to each patient's needs, to help them regain their emotional and functional well-being. Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ADHD and Autism): I am trained in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect neurological development from childhood, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder. My approach seeks not only to relieve symptoms, but also to enhance individual abilities and improve social and family integration. Personality Disorders: Addressing persistent patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior that create significant difficulties in daily life. Through specialized therapies and an empathetic approach, I help my patients develop tools to transform these patterns and achieve a better quality of life. My practice and my team: The administrative process is handled by Laura Abigail Ramirez, who will be responsible for contacting you initially to provide you with all the necessary information about the consultation. To schedule a first in-person consultation, we request a 50% deposit of the cost, since there are sometimes unforeseen absences, so it is necessary to secure the available slot in advance.
