About the Doctor

I am a Physician Specialist in Psychiatry with an Advanced Specialty Postgraduate degree in the Neurobiology of Schizophrenia, a Master's in Medical Sciences from UNAM, a Master's in Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapy, and a Specialization in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy.My psychotherapeutic approach is integrative, based mainly on Mindfulness, Contextual Therapies, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, and Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT, focused on BPD). I am also a facilitator of holotropic breathwork and transpersonal support.My training in anthropology (medical, social, and religious) allows me a more human and comprehensive approach, recognizing both the biological and scientific aspects and the social, symbolic, and religious/spiritual conditions of the patient.I have extensive experience caring for patients at the country's most important mental health institutes (Hospital Psiquiatrico Fray Bernardino Alvarez and the Instituto Nacional de Neurologia y Neurocirugia) in different clinical settings: outpatient consultation, emergency care, hospitalization, and rehabilitation.I have actively participated in the development and implementation of clinical research protocols to generate knowledge about psychiatric illnesses, particularly psychosis, and to develop new treatment strategies, at the Experimental Psychiatry Laboratory of the Instituto Nacional de Neurologia y Neurocirugia.I am passionate about spreading knowledge, which I do through university teaching at various institutions.
