He did Internal Medicine at the Hospital General de Tijuana, Baja California. At the Instituto Nacional de Cardiologia (INC) he specialized as a Clinical Cardiologist with a university degree from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). Master's in Invasive Cardiology, Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery with honors (cum laude); both degrees earned at the Hospital Clinico San Carlos, recognized by the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain. He has been part of the teaching staff at the Facultad de Medicina Mexicali UABC, serving for 18 generations as tenured professor of the subject of Cardiology. He belongs to the Sociedad de Cardiologia Intervencionista de Mexico (SOCIME), the Asociacion Nacional de Cardiologos de Mexico (ANCAM), is a member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Cardiologia (SMC), member of the Sociedad Espanola de Cardiologia (SEC), member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), member of the Sociedad de Internos y Becarios del Instituto Nacional de Cardiologia (SIBIC), member of the American Heart Association (AHA), member of the Ilustre Colegio de Medicos de Madrid (ICOMEM), member of the Sociedad de Cardiologia de Baja California (SCBC) where he has also served as treasurer, vice president, and president. He is one of the pioneers of Hemodynamics in public medicine in Mexicali, Baja California.
