About the Doctor

Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, is the specialty responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the ear, nose, and throat. Within head and neck surgery, the otolaryngologist can train in facial surgery procedures such as blepharoplasty (correction of eyelid bags), neck liposuction (removes the double chin), removal of Bichat's fat pads (creates a slimmer facial profile), or rhytidectomy (facelift). My training in otolaryngology was done through the Universidad La Salle at the Hospital Regional "Gral. Ignacio Zaragoza" of the ISSSTE, which is a referral hospital for the entire southern region of the country. I hold a diploma from the UNAM in rhinology, paranasal sinus surgery, and facial surgery, as well as studies at the University of St. Louis Missouri in facial surgery and aesthetic facial procedures. I have studies in the area of health outcomes research from Harvard University (school of public health) and in meta-analysis from the University of Arizona in the United States. I am an active member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Otorrinolaringologia, Cirugia de Cabeza y Cuello (SMORLCCC), of the Consejo Mexicano de Otorrinolaringologia, Cirugia de Cabeza y Cuello (CMORLCCC) with certification by the same, member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Rinologia y Cirugia Facial (SMRCF), international member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (AAOHNS), international member of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and member of the Mexico chapter of the same society. I recently completed a Master's in Health Sciences Research from the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain.
