About the Doctor

I am the third generation of physicians in my family; my father, pediatrician Enrique Prieto, and my grandfather, Dr. Alfonso Prieto, came before me in a love for health and care for patients. I am a clinical nutritionist, a graduate of the Ibero, and I inherited and learned the calling to treat my patients with love and to base my practice on solid, cutting-edge science and knowledge. I offer a holistic treatment, grounded in science and at the forefront of the field, with the best personalized tools and technology so that my patients can reach their goals and build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to develop the right habits and a healthy lifestyle so they can live longer, better, with health, vitality, energy, and well-being. Knowledge is not enough — we love our patients and we uphold our values, which are care for nature, ethics, and human treatment. I have learned that motivating my patients is a determining factor in the success of treatment; I will accompany you every step of the way so you can reach your goals and improve your health, taking care of the most valuable thing you have, your body, which will be with you every day of your life. My journey began in high school, since I lived with obesity during my adolescence and managed to control it, maintaining my weight to this day. My goal is to help my patients do what I achieved, guiding them by the hand so they can change their lifestyle and manage to live feeling and looking their best, while also caring for their well-being and quality of life in the future. In 2008 I finished my studies at the Universidad Iberoamericana de Nutricion y Ciencias de los Alimentos, with a focus on clinical nutrition, earning an overall average of 9.1. I currently hold a master's degree from Universidad Anahuac del Norte, having completed all the credits with an overall average of 9.46 and graduating with honors for having achieved the highest average in my class. Over the last 15 years I trained as an expert in helping control overweight, obesity, and related chronic diseases, such as type two diabetes, dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension, and digestive problems such as colitis and gastritis, through multiple diplomas and courses (see the Training section). My method is different from the conventional one because I walked the same path my patients are walking, and I know a diet alone is not enough; the right way to treat these conditions is by changing the entire lifestyle, motivating yourself and correcting the root problems such as eating habits, physical activity, anxiety eating, and teaching you why each part of your diet and lifestyle needs to change. My work experience includes the nutrition clinic at Universidad Iberoamericana, the commission for academic, scientific, and technological development, the Nutricion Especializada clinics, my private practice, various presentations at national and international conferences, and courses I have taught to companies and patients. I have been a member of the Colegio Mexicano de Nutriologos since 2012, and I keep up to date every year with conferences and courses.
