I am a pediatrician and neonatologist, and both in my professional practice and in my personal life, I continue to constantly learn about family-centered pediatrics, in which, from the moment of birth, we support a respected vaginal delivery or C-section, delayed cord clamping, immediate skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding within the first hour of life, as well as close involvement from dad; with premature babies, I believe that the active presence of the parents and the kangaroo care method are the best tools, together with the contributions of the medical team, to help these little fighters thrive. I am also convinced of the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding during the first 6 months of life, and I look for ways to foster family and social support for mom in this complex task. I consider vaccines to be one of medicine's best tools, and I also believe that consistently monitoring children's growth and development is the best way to prevent any condition
