About the Doctor

I am an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon, specialized in spine surgery. Medical care is provided Monday through Friday at Hospital Puebla, in the city of Puebla; and we provide out-of-town care in Tuxtla Gutierrez one weekend every 3 weeks, in Veracruz one weekend a month, and in the city of Tlaxcala every 2 weeks on Thursdays. I try to ensure that all patients with a spine problem can learn about this new technique before deciding to undergo surgery. These procedures are performed with the least possible harm to the patient, meaning we don't hurt the patient, that the surgery is safe, and that their problem is resolved. Spine Endoscopy is the greatest advance in spine surgery, as has happened throughout history in all specialties: general surgery, urology, gynecology, and even Traumatology; the idea of introducing a camera into a small space means having eyes inside the patient and thus being able to carry out multiple procedures without the need to make large wounds. It is important to know that there are very few endoscopic spine centers in the world; that several spine surgeons continue with traditional methods, putting patients' health at risk, and that even some with little experience and knowledge of these techniques attempt to perform them, getting poor results and thereby casting doubt on this type of technique and the great benefit it offers the patient. For this reason I have undergone International training to be able to gain this knowledge and apply these techniques in the best possible way.
