About the Doctor

I am a neurosurgeon with a subspecialty in spine surgery, beginning my academic training at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon Mexico with my mentor Dr. Roman Garza-Mercado and continuing at Cornell University in New York with my mentor Dr. Russel H. Patterson; my training as a spine surgeon culminated alongside my teacher of teachers Dr. Eduardo Luque Rebollar, orthopedist and one of the great pioneers of spine surgery in the world and creator of the fixation system that bears his name, with whom I had the opportunity to work for many years exclusively in spine surgery and conducting experimental work at the Brimex experimental center of the ABC Hospital, and at the Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, Mexico City, and alongside him, thoracoscopic spine surgery, as well as the development of bone morphogenetic protein to achieve the repair of spinal damage, throughout the world. I complemented my education with neuropsychology, human development, and philosophy, which led me to understand the spine as an entity of bodily and spiritual support, giving me greater understanding of people suffering from a painful spinal disease. Proud to be the first and only Mexican Neurosurgeon with orthopedic spine training alongside Dr. Luque.
