About the Doctor

My doctoral research focused on suicidal behavior, and I have been researching the role of two very important neurocognitive aspects: decision-making and impulsivity. Each plays a fundamental role in the development of suicidal ideation to transition, and the way these two aspects mediate or moderate the relationship with suicidal behavior. During the last five years I have been working with the general population, LGBT groups, and psychiatric patients in Scotland, United Kingdom. During my master's training I built a solid foundation of knowledge on human development and critical analysis in clinical psychology, atypical development, and physiological and ethical issues in psychology. For my thesis, I was granted approval to conduct research to explore the psychological implications for children adopted by same-sex couples, with the aim of improving the understanding of human behavior toward this topic. I participated in international congresses in Spain, New York, and Las Vegas, presenting my work on suicidal behavior, and I have also participated in radio interviews in Scotland alongside other panels of doctors.
