About the Doctor

Good day, parents!! Let me tell you a bit about myself: I am a graduate of the Facultad de Medicina of the Universidad de Guadalajara, after which I completed 4 years of postgraduate training in Pediatrics at the Centro Medico Nacional del Bajio (Hospital de Ginecopediatria UMAE 48) in the city of Leon, Gto. And finally I completed two years as a specialist in infectious diseases at the Hospital Infantil de Mexico Federico Gomez, in Mexico City, endorsed by UNAM. I worked in the city of Leon, Guanajuato at UMAE 48 for 9 years, first as a pediatrician and later as a pediatric infectious disease specialist. In this latter role I was a professor to students of the Facultad de Medicina of the Universidad de Guanajuato, as well as an adjunct professor in the training of specialties in pediatrics, neonatology, and pediatric surgery. I served as a board member on the infections committee of UMAE 48 (the internal body for infection control within the hospital), and likewise I was a board member of the State Committee on Drug Resistance (for tuberculosis) of the state of Guanajuato. I likewise worked as an infectious disease physician at the Hospital General de Leon for a period of 1 year 7 months, where in addition to caring for patients with infections, I also served as a board member on the Infections Committee and as a professor on infection topics for pediatric medical residents. I specialize in the management of infections in general, from the most common to serious infectious processes that can put children's lives at risk. I also treat patients with chronic infections such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS infection in children, bone infections (osteomyelitis), and infections in newborns acquired in the mother's womb. We likewise handle prevention (vaccines), of course those in the National basic vaccination schedule as well as those not part of the basic schedule, and the vaccines you need in case of travel within and outside the country.
