Dr. Paloma Almeda Valdes completed her undergraduate studies from 1994 to 1999 at the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus, graduating with honors. She completed her specialty in Internal Medicine at the Fundacion Clinica Medica Sur between 2002 and 2006 and her subspecialty in Endocrinology at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Medicas y Nutricion Salvador Zubiran between 2006 and 2008. She then completed the advanced specialty course in Diabetes and Metabolism at the same institution. She earned first place on the Certification Exam of the Consejo Mexicano de Endocrinologia. She completed her master's and doctoral studies in Medical Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico from 2008 to 2012, graduating with honors. From 2011 to 2013 she completed a post-doctoral stay at Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. She is a specialist physician on staff in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Medicas y Nutricion Salvador Zubiran since March 2009 and has belonged to the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (level II) since January 2014. She has belonged to the Academia Nacional de Medicina de Mexico since 2019.
