Curriculum Summary Dr. Raúl López Serna is a Neurosurgeon trained in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. Graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes in the Physician and Surgeon program, in which he received recognition for the highest average of his class (9.65). He has graduate studies recognized by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in General Surgery at the Centro Médico Nacional Siglo XXI of the IMSS (Subsede HGR 1) and Neurosurgery (Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía "Manuel Velasco Suárez"), obtaining a 10 as the overall grade for the specialty. He was Chief Resident of Neurosurgery at the Instituto Nacional de Neurología during the period 2011-2012. In February 2012 he was awarded a scholarship by the American Austrian Foundation as a Fellow of the Salzburg Medical Seminar in Spine Surgery in Salzburg, Austria. He has training in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at the Wooridul Spine Hospital (Seoul, South Korea) and completed a Fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery in the National Health Service of England (NHS) with training in Pediatric Spine Surgery (Evelina's Children Hospital & The Portland Hospital, London) and Complex Spinal Deformity Surgery (Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospital, London). He completed the Master's in Spine Pathology recognized by UNIA and the Sociedad Andaluza de Traumatologìa y Ortopedia. He also has managerial training with a Master's Degree in Hospital Administration and Health Services from UCA. Recognition for the highest score on the certification exam of the Consejo Mexicano de Cirugía Neurológica (February, 2012) He is the author of numerous articles published in 3 languages in international journals and has been a speaker at courses and congresses in Mexico, North America, and Europe. He has been an active and associate member of Scientific Societies in Mexico, North America, Asia and Europe.
