About the Doctor

Originally from and resident of Mexico City. He completed his professional studies at the UNAM School of Medicine, and from then on participated voluntarily in novel research protocols aimed mostly at developing organ-preserving substances. He obtained an honorable mention in his undergraduate medical internship carried out at IMSS General Hospital of Zone No. 26. After passing both the written professional exam and the oral committee exam unanimously, in 1995 he received his Surgeon's degree. He did his social service in the DIF system. Already passionate about matters concerning the heart, he presented the thesis: "Effects of Laughter on Blood Pressure" Also during his social service he participated voluntarily in the basic research department of the National Institute of Cardiology "Ignacio Chavez", working on projects related to extracorporeal circulation systems. At the end of his degree he was selected and given a scholarship by UNAM to study, in the State of Israel, a postgraduate degree in: Occupational Health. He was then Mexico's representative among more than 15 participating countries. In 1995 he entered the Internal Medicine specialty at Centro Medico Nacional Siglo XXI. Two years later he obtained, from UNAM together with the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada, a scholarship to carry out: Special complementary training in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, and AIDS. The Cardiology specialty, a cornerstone of his training, he completed over 3 years at the National Institute of Cardiology "Dr. Ignacio Chavez". During this training the urge arose to put on paper his reflections on everyday medical practice, so in his free time he began writing as a columnist for newspapers and magazines with more than 250 publications, among which stand out: Periodico Reforma, Revista Foro, various publications of the Jewish Community of Mexico, and publications of Fundacion Azteca. Upon finishing the specialty, the Secretariat of Health granted him a special recognition for "Best Achievement Within the Specialty". In turn achieving Certification by the Mexican Board of Cardiology and obtaining the license as "Medical Specialist in Cardiology". At the National Institute of Cardiology he completed an additional curricular year of training in the area of Emergency and Intensive Coronary Care. In 2001 he received in Madrid, Spain, complementary clinical training for the specialty for 2 months in the area of "Cardiac Rehabilitation" at Hospital Ramon y Cajal. Upon returning to Mexico he began private professional practice, obtaining credentials to care for patients at the Hospitals: ABC, Grupo Angeles, Medica Sur, and Centro Medico Dalinde, among others. After a couple of years, he joined Hospital Espanol de Mexico to carry out 2 more years of studies, now concerning Cardiac Interventionism (cardiac catheterization), with complementary practice at the Naval Medical Center and the National Institute of Nutrition "Salvador Zubiran". With the pharmaceutical industry for more than 6 years he has collaborated as an advisor, speaker, and professor in more than 50 courses, congresses, and forums nationally and internationally. Notably having served as Co-director and lead professor of 2 Cardiology diploma programs, each 6 months long (Cuautla and Taxco), endorsed both by the Government of the State of Guerrero and by the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Morelos. Outside his practice he has participated in various courses focused on leadership, direction, and strategic business planning. He has also been a member and leader of various committees and organizations with causes aimed at community help and well-being. He currently runs his own Cardiovascular Diagnostic Clinic located in the Polanco neighborhood. It is modernized day by day with the implementation of new equipment offering precision and confidence to those who consult it. He also has a second office located at Hospital Angeles de las Lomas. He maintains close and collaborative ties with various subspecialists in other branches with whom, when needed, he complements and/or develops joint and sophisticated medical management when the patient requires it. He also maintains close relationships with various insurance companies, who consider him a "Physician of Elite and Trust" Since the beginning of his training and to this day, he has made an effort to attend the most important Cardiology forums, congresses, and symposiums nationally and internationally.
