About the Doctor

Hello! It's a pleasure to introduce myself to you. I am Dr. Sara Monica Hernandez Gurrola, a physician and surgeon who graduated from the Universidad Juarez del Estado de Durango, the city that saw me born and grow up. My vocation for children's well-being led me to specialize in pediatrics at the Hospital Centenario Miguel Hidalgo in Aguascalientes, where I gained solid knowledge in the care of girls and boys. Throughout my career I have worked at various hospitals, but it was at the Hospital de la Mujer where I discovered my great passion: newborn care. I currently continue working in the Neonatology area, caring for premature and full-term newborn patients at this institution, while also providing pediatric consultations for preschool and school-age patients. Aware of the new health challenges facing our children, I recently completed my diploma in the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity, with the goal of providing updated and effective tools to the families accompanying their children's growth. Childhood obesity is an urgent problem that affects children's present and future health, and requires a comprehensive and sensitive approach. I am convinced that every family deserves personalized care, respectful support, and practical strategies to foster healthy habits from home.
