About the Doctor

Sonia Hernandez greets you, Clinical Psychologist. Let me share a part of my training with you. My alma mater UNAM trained me as a cognitive behavioral psychologist, with which I observe, understand, and evaluate behaviors from a scientific standpoint. Albert Ellis said, "Don't seek to be perfect, seek to be happy," and in line with that, my interest in human nature went further and I trained in Systemic Psychology; in this model I found a way to broaden my understanding of individuals, couples, and families, where one of its icons, Virginia Satir, contributes the following idea: "Life is what it's supposed to be, it is what it is. The way to deal with this is what makes the difference." Alongside this knowledge, I have a significant study of psychoanalysis, and I am now advancing to a master's candidacy in Psychoanalysis, where Julia Kristeva contributes the following: "In the end, the journey to one's origins is the most important journey, more important than the origins themselves." This knowledge has contributed to broadening and enriching the clinical practice I carry out with the aim of uncovering the cause of human suffering, that is, a multidisciplinary and integrative approach. Together with you, I take on the commitment to generate effective, practical changes to improve your day-to-day life; this means deep changes that last over time and benefit your quality of life in the areas where you function, building a new, different, autonomous perspective, in favor of your intellectual, emotional, and personal development.
