Perinephric Abscess

The one who usually treats this condition is the urologist, in coordination with nephrology when kidney function is compromised. A perinephric abscess (around the kidney) is a collection of pus in the tissues surrounding the kidney, generally as a consequence of an infection.

Frequent symptoms: fever, pain in the flank or lower back, chills, general malaise, and, at times, discomfort when urinating.

Common causes: it usually derives from urinary infections that spread, stones that obstruct the tract, or infectious processes that reach the kidney through the blood.

When to see a doctor? High fever accompanied by intense lower back pain requires timely medical evaluation to identify the origin and act in time.
