Papular Acrodermatitis of Childhood

Papular acrodermatitis of childhood, also called Gianotti-Crosti syndrome, is a skin rash that appears mostly in young children and that is frequently associated with previous or concurrent viral infections.

Common symptoms: small raised bumps (papules) with a symmetrical distribution on the cheeks, arms, legs and buttocks, which can cause mild itching; usually the trunk is spared and the child's general condition remains good.

Common causes: it is related to various infections by viruses common in childhood, which trigger the reaction in the skin.
