Anal Cancer

Anal cancer is treated mainly by the oncologist together with the proctologist, and in some cases the general surgeon or the radiation therapy specialist participate, depending on the characteristics of the case. It is an abnormal growth of cells in the anal region that warrants specialized evaluation.

What is it? It is a disease in which altered cells appear in the tissues of the anal canal or its edge, and its behavior varies from one person to another.

Signs worth checking: bleeding, discomfort or pain in the area, changes in bowel habits, persistent itching, or the sensation of a lump.
