Coccidioidomycosis

Coccidioidomycosis is an infection caused by a fungus that lives in the soils of arid and semiarid areas and is acquired by inhaling its spores present in dust. It affects mainly the lungs, although at times it can spread to other parts of the body.

Common symptoms: Cough, fever, fatigue, chest pain, and, in some cases, skin rashes or joint pain; many people have mild discomfort.
