Dupuytren Contracture

Dupuytren's contracture is a progressive thickening of the tissue located beneath the skin of the palm of the hand. Over time it can form cords that pull one or more fingers toward the palm, making it difficult to fully extend them.

Common symptoms: the appearance of firm nodules or lumps in the palm, skin that puckers, and fingers that tend to bend, most frequently the ring finger and the little finger.

Common causes: It is often associated with a family history and appears more in older people.
