Epididymitis and Epididymo-Orchitis

Epididymitis, and when the testicle is also inflamed, epididymo-orchitis, is the inflammation of the epididymis, the duct located behind the testicle where sperm mature and are stored. It can appear acutely or persist over time.

Common symptoms:

• pain and swelling in one of the testicles
• redness and increased temperature in the area
• discomfort when urinating or a feeling of heaviness
