Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism

When the brain does not send the right signals to stimulate the sex glands, hypogonadotropic hypogonadism results, a disorder in which the production of sex hormones decreases because of a failure in the structures that regulate them.

Frequent symptoms: It may present with delayed or incomplete pubertal development, decreased sexual desire, fertility disturbances, or changes in the menstrual cycle.

Common causes: It is associated with congenital factors or with alterations of the brain regions that control these hormones.
