Acute External Ear Infection

An acute infection of the external ear, known as otitis externa, is an inflammation of the ear canal that connects the outside with the eardrum, often related to moisture or minor injuries to the skin of the canal.

Common symptoms: it usually causes ear pain that increases when the ear is touched, itching, redness, a feeling of a plugged ear and, at times, discharge.
