Liver Metastases

Liver metastasis refers to the presence in the liver of tumor cells that originated in another organ of the body and reached it through the blood or the lymphatic system. In other words, the primary tumor is elsewhere and the liver is affected secondarily.

Possible manifestations: There may be discomfort or heaviness in the upper right part of the abdomen, fatigue, loss of appetite, or changes in weight, although in the early stages it usually goes unnoticed.

Who evaluates it? The oncologist is the specialist who studies tumors and coordinates their comprehensive management. Their guidance is central because of the complexity of the picture.

When to see a doctor? If there is a history of a tumor and abdominal discomfort appears, or studies require clarification, the prudent thing is to discuss it with the specialist to define the appropriate follow-up.
