Vestibular Neuronitis

Vestibular neuronitis is inflammation of the vestibular nerve, which is responsible for transmitting balance information from the inner ear to the brain. It causes intense episodes of vertigo, often of sudden onset.

Common symptoms:

• A spinning sensation or intense vertigo
• Nausea and imbalance when walking
• Difficulty fixing one's gaze

Unlike other ear disorders, it is not usually accompanied by hearing loss.
