Femoral nerve neuropathy is a disorder of the nerve that runs along the front of the thigh and takes part in the movement and sensation of the leg. When this nerve is damaged or compressed, discomfort and weakness may appear in the limb.

Common symptoms: weakness in extending the knee or climbing stairs, a feeling that the leg gives way, numbness or tingling in the thigh and the inner side of the leg.

Common causes: prolonged compressions, injuries, certain procedures in the area, or conditions that affect the nerves.
