Common Cold

The common cold is a mild viral infection of the upper respiratory tract, mainly the nose and throat. It is very common, usually resolves on its own, and spreads easily between people.

Common symptoms:

• Nasal congestion or runny nose
• Sneezing and sore throat
• Mild cough and general malaise
• Sometimes a low-grade fever

When to see a doctor? Although most cases improve with home care, it is advisable to consult if the symptoms are prolonged, worsen, a high fever appears, or there is difficulty breathing.
