Common symptoms: high, sudden fever, a skin rash resembling a sunburn, low blood pressure, vomiting, diarrhea, and confusion.

Which specialist treats it? It is usually handled in the emergency department by the emergency physician, and in some circumstances the gynecologist takes part. It is not advisable to wait: professional evaluation should be immediate.
