Internal bleaching is a dental treatment that lightens a tooth that has darkened from the inside, something common after an injury or root canal treatment (endodontics).

When is it indicated? It is considered when a single tooth looks darker than the rest and that color change comes from the inside, not from a surface stain.

What to expect? The bleaching agent is placed inside the tooth, usually over one or several appointments, to bring it back to a shade closer to the other teeth.

Who performs it? It is performed by dentists, often those focused on endodontics. A prior evaluation confirms whether the tooth is a candidate and checks its condition.

Before you book

  • Every licensed doctor in Mexico holds a cédula profesional, a national licence number. It appears on our doctor profiles where we have it, and you can verify it yourself against the federal registry.
  • Ask exactly what a quoted price covers. Consultation, imaging, anaesthesia, materials and follow-up visits are often quoted separately.
  • Ask who handles follow-up once you are home, and what happens if something needs correcting. For treatment that spans several visits, agree the schedule before you travel.
