About the Doctor

Hi, I am Alejandra Aguirre. I am a physician graduated from the Facultad de Medicina of UNAM at Ciudad Universitaria. I studied the medical specialty of Psychiatry in adults at the Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatria, in addition to a high specialty course in Sleep Medicine at the same institute. I am currently certified by the board of the Asociacion Psiquiatrica Mexicana and I am a member of the Academia Mexicana de Medicina del Dormir. I am also an adjunct professor at the Facultad de Medicina of UNAM and continue my academic training. I studied at one of the best public Psychiatric Hospitals, so I am aware that in Mexico it can be difficult to access mental health services, in addition to what it means to trust a professional with the conditions you may have, partly due to the stigma that persists in our culture, from the family to the society we live in every day. I invite you to learn a bit more about mental health and the treatment options available for your condition. My goal as a psychiatrist is to provide high-quality, personalized medical care, in which the patient is the center of the whole process. I make sure to do a complete analysis of the patient's situation, genuinely engaging with the symptoms and trying to understand them from a comprehensive perspective.
