About the Doctor

I am an ophthalmologist, graduate of Centro Medico Nacional SXXI IMSS. I then completed a highly specialized fellowship in Anterior Segment Microsurgery at CMNSXXI, which is the specialty in cataract surgery using the most current surgical technique in Mexico. I then completed a highly specialized fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at IMSS Hospital Centro Medico Nacional la Raza, with training in corneal transplantation, a site committed to eradicating corneal blindness and to a Mexico without a wait for corneal transplants, being the number one hospital nationally in corneal transplants. I am certified by the Consejo Mexicano de Oftalmologia, and I am also a member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Oftalmologia. I currently work as a staff physician at an IMSS hospital, and I also participate in clinical (physician) and surgical work at the private charitable clinic Clinica Oftalmologica Santa Lucia. Other areas of my ophthalmological practice include: screening for diseases such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, detection of predisposing lesions or tears in the retina that lead to retinal detachment, laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy, treatment and follow-up of ocular surface conditions such as dry eye, chronic conjunctivitis, detection of pterygium and its surgical treatment; correction of refractive errors (to stop wearing glasses), detection and management of keratoconus, assessment for patients requiring a corneal transplant, among others.
