About the Doctor

Hello! I am Andrea Hernandez, a Cognitive-Behavioral psychotherapist committed to providing the highest quality care to my patients, as well as a safe and welcoming space. I studied the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at UNAM and later completed the graduate program that allowed me to become a psychotherapist, also at UNAM. I also had the opportunity to complete an international academic stay in Colombia. All my training reinforced my love and commitment to evidence-based clinical psychology. I specialized in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy during my graduate studies, for which I completed more than 2,000 hours of direct clinical supervision. However my clinical training began from my undergraduate studies, so I have experience in various topics such as: patients with terminal illnesses, people living with HIV, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, relationship problems, emotional dependence, anger management, grief and anticipatory grief, as well as suicide risk. In my practice I have come to see that sometimes traditional teaching of psychotherapy leaves aside social factors that affect us day to day, so I have additionally taken various courses that train me to provide psychological care with a gender perspective, which allows me to be empathetic with gender-related barriers and provide more complete care to my patients. I know that the path of seeking psychological care and receiving it can be uncertain and sometimes uncomfortable, but I am here to guide you and accompany you in this process; it will be a great pleasure to meet you.
