About the Doctor

Dr. Andrea earned her degree as a Physician and Surgeon in 2009, graduating from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México - CU, and as a Physician Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine in 2013, graduating from the Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación "Luis Guillermo Ibarra Ibarra" (INR LGII)/UNAM. Afterward, she pursued a High Specialty in Orthopedic Rehabilitation, the clinical area in which she is actively practicing. Since the start of her medical career, she has maintained a strong interest in clinical research, which led her to complete a Master's in Research in Medical Sciences, endorsed by UNAM. She participates in various research projects related to musculoskeletal diseases, disability, and models of clinical care, through which she seeks to improve the quality of care she provides to her patients, and to contribute to medical knowledge. Additionally, she teaches in the Master's in Research in Medical Sciences/IPN, and takes part in medical training within the postgraduate courses of Rehabilitation Medicine and Orthopedic Rehabilitation, within the INR-LGII. She actively works within that institution, where she has had the opportunity to take part in different services within Orthopedic Rehabilitation and gain experience treating various neuromusculoskeletal diseases. She is currently Head of the Spine Rehabilitation Service and Osteoporosis Clinic, at the INR-LGII. She has kept the certifications for her specialty up to date, in addition to adding a certification as a Densitometry Clinician from the AMMOM, AC, a medical association dedicated to the study of osteoporosis, through which she has participated in various teaching activities and medical sessions of great interest. By integrating medical care, teaching, and research, she seeks to support with great interest the development of her specialty, continually participating in national and international academic and scientific forums, medical associations, courses, and congresses.
