My mother is a nurse, and she instilled in me the importance of treating others with respect and understanding them with due compassion. My emphasis on transgender medicine responds to the need to serve a population that needs quality care, a population that has traditionally been left behind by health services. I also perform cell therapy, I was a clinical laboratory technician, which helped me understand the immunological, allergic, and pathophysiological foundations that unfold in human metabolism. Finally, this same aspect is vitally important in the control of chronic diseases; if we can prevent diabetes and hypertension, what better than to evaluate the specific needs of each patient, remembering that each person is a world, a context, a unique experience, and therefore will have different needs from each and every one of us.
