About the Doctor

Hello! I am Doris Carmona, a psychiatric physician with a gender perspective. I studied medicine at the Facultad de Medicina of UNAM, and completed my medical specialty at the Centro Medico Nacional 20 de Noviembre of ISSSTE, where we trained with a consultation-liaison psychiatry profile. I hold an advanced specialty in Psychiatry in Gender, Sexuality, and Reproductive Health at the Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatria "Ramon de la Fuente Muniz." I specialize in the treatment of trauma, acute stress, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and I mainly treat women's mental health. Throughout my career, I have accompanied patients through complex processes with empathy, respect, and active listening. I specialize in working with people who have gone through situations of violence, discrimination, or highly stressful events, and my priority is to provide a safe, inclusive space with emotional support. I deeply believe in the power of humanized psychiatric care, where every story is valid and every symptom deserves to be understood without judgment.
