About the Doctor

I am Dr. Eduardo Alcocer Sanchez, proctologist certified by the Consejo Mexicano de Especialistas en Coloproctologia. I have more than 20 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus: hemorrhoids, fistulas, abscesses and anal fissures, condylomas, blood in stool, diverticula, polyps, constipation, fecal incontinence, and colon and rectal cancer, among others. I am also a general surgeon certified by the Consejo Mexicano de Cirugia General. I studied medicine at the Universidad Anahuac Mexico-Norte and completed my specialty in General and Gastrointestinal Surgery and my subspecialty in Coloproctology at the Hospital Español de la CDMX. From 2011 to 2019 I served as Head of the Coloproctology Service at the Hospital Español and previously as an attending physician of the Service. In 2019 I moved my residence to Cancun and set up my practice at Hospital Galenia. Since 2001 I have been an active member of the Colegio Mexicano de Especialistas en Coloproctologia, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and I was the first Mexican to be admitted as a member of the European Society of Coloproctology. During my working life I have treated more than 15 thousand patients and performed more than 1,300 successful surgeries. In Cancun I perform surgeries at Hospital Galenia, Amerimed, Azura, Joya, Centro Medico Ossis, Medcal, Quirurgica del Sur, and Playamed.
