About the Doctor

I studied at the Facultad de Medicina of UNAM. I began my surgical career in 1983, when I finished my specialty in General Surgery at the Hospital de Especialidades of Centro Medico la Raza, IMSS, and joined the General Surgery service as an attending physician at the Hospital General of CM la Raza as a night emergency surgeon. I completed the diploma in basic and advanced laparoscopic surgery at the same hospital between 1994 and 1996 and joined the group of professors for that same course. In the 90s I joined the Asociaciones Mexicanas de Cirugia General, Endoscopica y de Hernia, in which, since 2005, I have been a guest professor for the advanced diploma course taught each year. For 28 years I was an adjunct professor of the General Surgery Residency course, actively participating in the extensive training in Emergency, Laparoscopic, Hernia, and Gastric Surgery. I retired from IMSS in 2011. I have been editor-reviewer of 7 chapters, and author of one, in the Tratado de Cirugia General of the Asoc. Mex. de Cirugia General. Author of the chapter "La Hernia Inguinal Estrangulada" in the book Hernias de la Pared Abdominal. I have conducted various surgical research studies and published in specialized journals. I was an examiner, for 8 years, in the certification exam of the Consejo Mexicano de Cirugia General. I have given numerous lectures on abdominal Hernias at various forums.
