About the Doctor

Hello!! My name is Yamile Torres. I am an Obstetrician-Gynecologist with a subspecialty in Gynecologic Oncology; after my subspecialty I completed a year of gynecological endoscopic surgery at Hospital Angeles de Pedregal with excellent national and international mentors. Afterward I completed a course in gynecologic oncologic laparoscopic surgery at IRCAD France, which allowed me to have contact with European opinion leaders such as Dra. Ana Fagotti and Dr. Denis Querleu. As well as completing the oncoplastic surgery course with Dr. Benigno Arcea. So I have received training in minimally invasive surgery for both gynecological and gynecologic oncologic surgery. I have helped patients with early gynecologic cancer receive fertility-sparing or less radical treatments, thanks to the training received in Europe and the multidisciplinary team made up of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, reproductive biologists, maternal-fetal specialists, nutritionists, and oncologic psychologists. We have managed patients with advanced gynecologic cancer, where timely intervention has benefited them in their healing and proper control of the disease. The management of gynecological conditions such as fibroids, menstrual disorders, and management of ovarian masses, which in many cases are resolved without surgery, we have successfully managed to resolve, improving the patient's quality of life. I also have extensive training in the management and prevention of human papillomavirus infections, aimed at patients and their partners, in the best way to resolve it so the disease does not recur. Thanks to my background, I can carry out the management of benign or malignant breast and gynecological diseases with satisfactory results that do not affect the patient's quality of life. Among my pursuits, I am currently completing a master's degree in Health Sciences through IPN, and I also serve as an examiner on the Mexican board of oncology, evaluating future gynecologic oncologists. I have practiced in private medicine since 2016 and have been part of the group of physicians affiliated with FUCAM since 2018.
