About the Doctor

I am Lic. Karla Herlinda Rodriguez Ornelas, a psychologist specialized in grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and couples therapy. I have 15 years of experience and received my academic training at the Escuela Gestalt Transpersonal y Terapias Complementarias in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Universidad Humanitas Campus Cancun, and the Instituto Internacional de Tanatología y Logoterapia A.C. in Mexico City. One of my main specialties is providing support in grief over the loss of loved ones, divorce, breakups, empty nest, loss of health, etc. As for my therapeutic approach, it is based on understanding the cognitive processes of the human being and how they affect behavior and mood. Through cognitive-behavioral therapy, I help my patients modify their negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors to achieve improved emotional well-being. As a humanistic psychologist, I am trained in Ericksonian Hypnosis and Systemic Family Therapy. My goal is to build a relationship of trust and understanding with my patients in order to work together to overcome their difficulties. I offer individual sessions for adults and adolescents and provide a safe, private environment so they feel comfortable expressing themselves.
