Dr. Hernan Jair Frias Vidal Specialist in adults Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Hernan Jair Frias Vidal. I earned my degree as a Physician and Surgeon from the Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan. I then completed the Specialization Course in Internal Medicine, endorsed by the Universidad de Guadalajara, based at the Centro Medico Nacional de Occidente of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social. In the third year of my training, I served as Coordinator of Internal Medicine Residents, and in the fourth year, I held the position of Chief Resident of Internal Medicine. I finished my residency as the top average in the Internal Medicine Specialty of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social nationwide. I currently hold current certification from the Colegio de Medicina Interna de Mexico A.C. and carry out clinical activities in the public and private sectors. I am also Adjunct Professor of the Internal Medicine Specialty and Clinical Practice Professor of the Physician and Surgeon degree program at the Hospital General de Zona No. 3 "Jesus Maria" of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social; both positions endorsed by the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes. You may be wondering: what is an internal medicine physician? Well, according to the dictionary of the Real Academia Española, it is the specialist dedicated to the study and treatment of diseases affecting the internal organs. However, no internal medicine textbook includes a definition of the specialty. That's because the internist's work is integrative: about synthesis and the whole picture (the human being as a whole, not as a single organ). To be honest, if I had to share a description of my specialty, I would go with these words from Dr. Humberto Reyes: "Internal Medicine is a medical specialty dedicated to the comprehensive care of the sick adult, focused on the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of diseases affecting their internal organs and systems, and on their prevention."
