Hello, I am Dr. José Gerardo Pastrana, an orthopedist who graduated from the Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitacion (UNAM), with a high specialty in pediatric orthopedics also from the Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitacion (UNAM). I have 10 years of experience in the management of orthopedic conditions in both children and adults. I belong to the Consejo Mexicano de Ortopedia y Traumatología, the Federación Mexicana de Ortopedia y Traumatología, and the Colegio de Ortopedia y Traumatología de Quintana Roo. It is important to know that children are not small adults, since they present two fundamental qualities, namely "growth" and "development." It is my duty to guide you, the parents, in the care and prevention of your children's development at the different stages of their growth, thus fostering the ability to carry out the activities of each stage of the child's life. We will handle the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, with the goal that your children reach adulthood properly and without any limitation. Likewise, we will focus on traumatic injuries (fractures, sprains, tears), secondary to falls and sports, always adapting the treatment to the type of injury, age, and associated complications or injuries. Our job is to select the most appropriate treatment for each particular case, based on scientific evidence and continuous updating, to give our patients access to more efficient modern techniques with the best possible result, since as specialists we must achieve a prompt recovery and return to usual school and sports activities.
