About the Doctor

I have always developed my life along different paths of artistic expression. I pursued my medical career at the School of Medicine of the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, a time in which I also developed as a professional musician (drums and percussion) in one of the best rock bands in Monterrey. Later I completed my residency in General Surgery and in Plastic, Esthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital Juarez de Mexico, the cradle of the great masters of surgery in our country, finding in this surgical specialty my best opportunity to fulfill myself and also express my artistic qualities. I also pursued studies in Bariatric Medicine, in which I am also certified, as well as in Cosmiatry. Already working within plastic surgery, I again mixed other branches of art into my life, collaborating in the musical group of Mr. Tino Contreras, an icon of Mexican jazz, with whom I had the opportunity to play for around 7 years. I have also collaborated as a professional musician in the blues group Real de Catorce and some other jazz groups; I have also trained in the areas of painting at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos, where I had the opportunity to participate in several exhibitions. I currently continue producing and developing these four great branches of art — plastic, esthetic, and reconstructive surgery, which I have developed in my own specialized clinic with 30 years of service, as well as music, painting, and wood carving and treatment (cabinetmaking). This has allowed me to confirm the hypothesis that you cannot create what you also cannot conceive or imagine, that is, to create beauty you must first be able to imagine it. In the end, a Plastic Surgeon is a sculptor.
