About the Doctor

My name is Julio Valdez, a psychologist by profession and a therapist in constant training; I have 4 years of experience in private practice, and the foundations of my work come from the brief systemic therapy approach and its various schools. My training goes hand in hand with diplomas in hypnosis, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, systemically-oriented couples therapy, and various training in managing anxiety, depression, brief systemic family therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy; I am currently in the 4th semester of the Master's in hypnosis and brief systemic family therapy from the Instituto Mexicano de Hipnosis Clinica, based in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. Rather than following rigid or strict methodologies with each patient, I like to approach each case in its own uniqueness, understanding that there are no magic recipes for healing and recovery, taking into account the different variables that can influence a new case, such as personal and family life history, sociocultural context, and medical, psychiatric, and psychological background, which can guide us toward better outcomes.
