About the Doctor

Hi! I'm Karen Ascencio, a clinical psychologist specializing in children, adolescents, and young adults. My area of expertise covers the diagnosis, intervention, and treatment of child abuse, grief, personality disorders, suicide risk, ASD, ADHD, separation anxiety, violence, phobias, toilet training, emotional reactivity, among others. Part of my services also includes training in sex education, guidance on parenting styles for parents, positive parenting, proper use of devices, comprehensive family involvement within the therapeutic process, guidance and contact with the school setting, vocational guidance, and current preparation for conducting psychological expert assessments. I am constantly in academic training and updating. I describe myself as an expert, capable, approachable, kind, adaptive, direct, responsible, resourceful person with good listening skills and a gift for speech. Someone who loves her work and does it with great passion for the overall improvement of the family. I like doing interdisciplinary work with other health professionals in order to achieve goals more efficiently.
