About the Doctor

I studied a Bachelor's degree in General Medicine at the Universidad de Guadalajara, at the Centro Universitario de Ciencias de la Salud, later the Specialty in General Surgery at the Unidad de Alta Especialidad Bajio (IMSS) endorsed by the Universidad de Guanajuato, continuing with the Subspecialty in Cardiothoracic Surgery (Adults) at the Centro Medico Nacional La Raza (IMSS) endorsed by UNAM, and subsequently the High Specialty in Surgery of Congenital Heart Malformations (pediatrics) at the Instituto Nacional de Cardiologia Ignacio Chavez endorsed by UNAM. I hold certification to practice both specialties issued by CONACEM (Consejo Nacional de Especialidades Medicas) and CNCT (Consejo Nacional de Cirugia de Torax). I am very interested in science and its dissemination with respect to my medical field; I have a diploma in clinical research completed at UNAM, in addition to currently pursuing a master's degree in Medical Sciences also at UNAM. I have various medical articles published in scientific journals, and I am also an associate editor at the journal Revista Cirugia Cardiaca en Mexico, and have received recognitions from the Academia Nacional de Cirugia and the Sociedad Mexicana de Cirugia Cardiaca for research projects presented. I also continue to take courses, workshops, and congresses on an ongoing basis. Provider/Instructor of the CALS Mexico program, which trains healthcare staff in contact with cardiac surgery patients in advanced cardiovascular support for post-cardiac-surgery patients. The Cardiothoracic Surgeon is the expert in heart diseases that can be resolved surgically, whether acquired (problems arising from heart attacks, heart valves, aorta, tumors, among others) or congenital (heart problems generated during gestation, which may or may not be hereditary). My purpose is to provide you with quality care, with the human warmth and seriousness required when dealing with matters of this nature.
