About the Doctor

My name is Lorena Vigil, I am a psychologist who graduated from UNAM and have more than 15 years of experience in the clinical and therapeutic field. The therapy I offer is focused on understanding what leads us to certain behaviors or to being in a certain situation, so that we can then decide whether it still serves us and whether we want to continue down the same path, or whether the time has come to make a change. Being in therapy is a challenge that involves commitment, effort, and empathy, but we are not machines capable of "changing the code and moving on to the next thing" from one day to the next. Most of us don't work that way, and there are biological, psychological, and social reasons for this. We live in an age in which we have become isolated beings, less able to see and tolerate anything that doesn't reinforce our own worldview. What growth and integration can there be if there is no dialogue in which different alternatives are proposed that hadn't previously been considered? The vision and support of an Other on the path to self-discovery and healing is fundamental and enriching. It helps us get out of the echo chambers occurring on social media that tend to generate isolation and disconnection. We are not just an algorithm... we are complex beings with an inner wisdom. We just need to remember it. Tools: Introspection, exercises in analysis and behavior modification, dream analysis (Jungian approach), meditation and breathing for anxiety management.
