About the Doctor

Former professor at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Currently directing a Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Program. Multiple academic achievements and 20 years of experience. His bibliographic output includes his participation as author and co-author of several scientific articles and book chapters in Mexico, Canada and the United States, on topics related to Laparoscopic Surgery and Obesity Surgery. His enthusiasm for teaching has led him to give lectures and perform demonstration surgeries in different cities in Mexico and several Latin American countries. In 2003, he was personally invited by Dr. Carlos Gracia to the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) as Visiting Assistant Professor and member of the Research and Development Committee of the Center for Advanced Surgery and Interventional Technology (CASIT). That same year, he was part of the newly established Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery Program. During his practice at the UCLA Bariatric Center of Excellence, he gained extensive experience in this field, including reoperations and conversions in patients referred from other Hospitals.
